The longest snake

Medusa, a reticulated python (Python reticulatus), and is owned by Full Moon Productions Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. When measured on 12 October 2011, she was found to be 7.67 m (25 ft 2 in) long. Medusa also holds the current 'Longest Snake - Living (captivity)' title.
In Kansas City, Missouri, USA, those who look directly at Medusa may not do that – but they certainly come to a stone cold stop.
That’s because the Medusa you find at the city’s Full Moon Productions isn’t some mythological figure of yore. It’s the longest snake ever in captivity.

Reticulated pythons primarily populate southeast Asia, Indonesia, and the Philippines and are also known as great swimmers. In 1912, a specimen shot in Sulawesi measured a jaw-dropping 10 m (32 ft 10 in). However, unlike Medusa, the unnamed animal was never kept alive in captivity.
Medusa is currently housed at “The Edge of Hell Haunted House” in Kansas City. Her handlers say she can actually tell when it’s “showtime” for patrons, as she will go into what they call performance mode. During this time, Medusa will stay completely still for those passing by to get a full glimpse of her in her record-stretching glory.
For those passing through the American Midwest, Medusa is surely a showstopping addition to any itinerary. A helpful hint: she is known to purr like a cat when she’s happy and hisses when she’s angry. Considering the size of this incredible creature, we recommend slithering away yourself if the purring ever stops.

The previous record holder was reticulated python (Python reticulatus) Fluffy. When measured on 30 September 2009, she was found to be over 7.3 m (24 ft) long.

Fluffy sadly died at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Powell, Ohio, USA, on 26 Oct 2010 due to an apparent tumor. She was 18 years old and still 24 foot long. Check out a video of Fluffy below.

Terrifying 33ft anaconda discovered lurking in caves near dam construction site in Brazil

THE WORLD'S BIGGEST SNAKE? Terrifying 33ft anaconda discovered lurking in caves near dam construction site in Brazil Construction worker  in brazil found a 33ft snake   A giant snake measuring 33-feet long has been discovered on a building site in northern Brazil. The 400kg reptile was discovered by workers after they carried out a controlled explosion in the Cave of Altamira, in the northern state of Para. V ideo footage taken by one of the crew pans down the snake’s enormous body — which measures one metre in diameter. After making the frightening discovery, the workers chained the animal to a crane and later lifted it up to reveal its yellow spotted under belly - a move which was criticised in the comments when the clip was uploaded to YouTube. It's claimed the builders killed the snake rather than leave it in its natural habitat but this has not been confirmed.

Worlds biggest snakes

WORLDS BIGGEST SNAKE FOUND IN BRAZIL RIVER  Most of us would see a massive anaconda and panic, quickly fleeing for our lives. But one man on a boat with two other individuals felt it was the perfect opportunity to prove he was brave and grab the snake's tail. Anacondas are some of the largest snakes in the world, and although they are not venomous, this particular snake's size would be enough to make anyone run away. Local media reported the three individuals in the video were Sirlei Oliveira, husband Betinho Borges and Rodrigo Santos, a friend. They were on a small boat on the Santa Maria River in Mato Grosso do Sul, a southwestern state in Brazil, the  Daily Mail  reported, and each individual has been fined $600 by environmental police. They have also been charged and face up to 18 months in jail if they are found guilty of violating a law that prohibits chasing or hunting wildlife without a licence, the Mail reported. A teacher finds a red-bellied black snake under her DESK.

A venomous red-bellied black snake has been found in the classroom at a Queensland school. The poisonous snake was discovered by a teacher sitting at her desk at the Noosa Christian College this week. A reptile catcher released footage of the moment he captured the snake using a stick, twirled it around in his hand and lured it into a black bag. 'The teacher was sitting at her desk when she looked down at her feet and saw a snake head poking around the corner by her feet,' he said. 'Lucky for her this gorgeous animal was very shy and quickly went back into cover,' he said. 'Absolutely beautiful snake, red bellies are my favorite.' He is shown twirling the snake around his hand and then finally seizing the reptile into his black bag. 'Of all the places for a red belly black snake to be, under the desk here is very interesting,' he said. The red-bellied black snake (Pseudechis porphyriacus) is a species of elapid snake native to
