Is this golden snake real or a hoax?

This impressive photo editing was done for a graphics contest on worth1000.com called  Alternate Materials: Gold, Adding the Midas touch   which took place about seven years ago. The goldn snake photo ranked second among a field of many impressive entries. “Mandrak”, the contestant who created the gold-textured snake, can take pride that his creation has become something of an urban legend, often circulated by internet “fact” pages as a real creature.Below you can see the gold image, and the original photograph from which it was altered The golden snake photo began circulating in late 2012 with a new caption, attempting to clam that this is a real, rare snake. This caption reads: Golden Snake is only found in thick dense Amazon forest. Only less than 10 is estimated to be alive. It’s saliva, venom and skin contains 24 carrot pure Gold. One strike from a Golden snake could kill you within 5 minutes. Many have disappeared, after setting into the forest in search of this s

A college student got an unpleasant surprise on a recent trip to her refrigerator.

A college student got an unpleasant surprise on a recent trip to her refrigerator. Instead of coming away with food Tuesday morning, the Hamilton College student was given a fright when she discovered a large snake behind the fridge in her dorm, WKTV reported. The student was “very, very upset,” according to campus security, which said a worker caught the nearly 5-foot long yellow snake believed to be a boa constrictor, Syracuse.com reported. In spite of the shock, the student did not pack up and leave her dorm and college, according to 96.1 The Eagle, which said she was “doing much better” a day after finding the large snake. The snake is a pet of another Hamilton student living in Bundy East Residence hall, per WKTV, which said the serpent was able to escape from the tote it was being kept in and likely slid under the door. But students are not allowed to have pets on campus, unless they are a service animal, according to 96.1 The Eagle. A screenshot

A teacher finds a red-bellied black snake under her DESK.

A venomous red-bellied black snake has been found in the classroom at a Queensland school. The poisonous snake was discovered by a teacher sitting at her desk at the Noosa Christian College this week. A reptile catcher released footage of the moment he captured the snake using a stick, twirled it around in his hand and lured it into a black bag. 'The teacher was sitting at her desk when she looked down at her feet and saw a snake head poking around the corner by her feet,' he said. 'Lucky for her this gorgeous animal was very shy and quickly went back into cover,' he said. 'Absolutely beautiful snake, red bellies are my favorite.' He is shown twirling the snake around his hand and then finally seizing the reptile into his black bag. 'Of all the places for a red belly black snake to be, under the desk here is very interesting,' he said. The red-bellied black snake (Pseudechis porphyriacus) is a species of elapid snake native to

15 Fact about snakes.

1.The decapitated head of a dead snake  can still bite, even hours after death. These  types of bites usually contain huge  amounts of venom. 2.What is considered the most  “dangerous” snake depends on both a  specific country’s health care and the  availability of antivenom following a bite.  Based on these criteria, the most  dangerous snake in the world is the saw- scaled viper, which bites and kills more  people each year than any other snake. 3.Snakes live on everywhere on Earth  except for Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand, and  the North and South Poles. 4.Of the approximately 725 species of  venomous snakes worldwide, 250 can kill a  human with one bite. 5.Snakes evolved from a four-legged  reptilian ancestor—most likely a small,  burrowing, land-bound lizard—about 100  million years ago. Some snakes, such as  pythons and boas, still have traces of back  legs. 6.The fe

Snake discovered with 2 eyes in one socket

Snake discovered in Mississippi with 2 eyes in one socket  Tyree Jimerson, who breeds reticulated pythons in Mississippi, knows. Sometimes they go wrong. Tyree Jimerson told Newsweek magazine he was tending to his most recent clutch of python eggs when he determined that the snakes inside were developed enough that he should start cutting the shells open. This practice is common in snake breeding; it ensures that the young make it out of the egg. But one, which his wife cut open, had a funny colour. The snake inside was twisting around, and the umbilical cord was around its neck. “When I pulled its head out,” Jimerson told Newsweek, “it just really freaked me out.” Even more surprisingly, the animal was alive at birth. But, Jimerson said, the animal was very weak and couldn’t hold its head up. He had heard of this unfortunate phenomenon before. “Someone else had already had one that was very similar, like a cyclops, and it just wouldn’t live," Jimerson sai

The truth of three-headed snake.

They say that rumours are just like a jar full of moths. Once they come out they are all over the place. It may be partially because rumours are surprising, funny, or shocking, and the teller wishes to entertain the listeners. There are some people who tend to believe in them without actually trying to find out the real truth behind it. People would easily believe in what they hear or in some case see and react so intently that they close their eyes and ears to the truth. A recent case of a rumour that spread across the city like wild-fire on a windy day makes for an interesting reading. The messages that come with this picture showing a three-headed snake on Indian roads claim that the picture is a real one, and it is the beautiful creation of nature. The story, however, is a hoax. The three-headed snake picture is not real, it is a manipulated one The original picture is only a single-headed snake found on the roadside somewhere in India, which some prankster might

The python holds the world's record for length of a snake, with the longest ever measured at 33 feet.

If you look at the records there is a lot of controversy over which snake holds the world's record for massive size. The dimensions that have earned the anaconda the title of king is its total body mass or its weight (the sheer physical bulk of it). The largest anaconda ever measured was almost 28 feet long with a girth of 44 inches. She wasn't weighed at the time she was caught, but scientists estimate that she must have weighed over 500 lbs. The other snake that competes with the anaconda is the Asiatic Reticulated Python (Python reticulatus). The python holds the world's record for length of a snake, with the longest ever measured at 33 feet. Even though the longest python is longer than the record-holding anaconda, the girth of the anaconda is far bigger. Anacondas in the jungles of South America can grow as big around as a grown man! Anacondas in the wild spend most of their time hanging out in rivers hunting for their food. They are solitary creatures that are so

Huge snake invades a house in Malaysia.

Snake invades a house in Malaysia   A video went viral on the internet which shows that Cobra invades a house in Malaysia. Facebook user Derrick YiFan, Neighbour, uploaded a video of the incident which took place on Jun 18, at around 4 pm. In the clip, the king cobra, estimated to be eight feet long, can be first seen moving among some boxes and shelves outside the house. It then slithered up the door and its metal grills. Towards the end of the video, the serpent apparently entered the house through an opening at the top of the door. As it was doing so, Derrick can be heard shouting 'it's going to' frantically in Mandarin. Fortunately, no one was home at that time. The snake was later caught by firefighters.

The longest snake

Medusa, a reticulated python (Python reticulatus), and is owned by Full Moon Productions Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. When measured on 12 October 2011, she was found to be 7.67 m (25 ft 2 in) long. Medusa also holds the current 'Longest Snake - Living (captivity)' title. In Kansas City, Missouri, USA, those who look directly at Medusa may not do that – but they certainly come to a stone cold stop. That’s because the Medusa you find at the city’s Full Moon Productions isn’t some mythological figure of yore. It’s the longest snake ever in captivity.  Reticulated pythons primarily populate southeast Asia, Indonesia, and the Philippines and are also known as great swimmers. In 1912, a specimen shot in Sulawesi measured a jaw-dropping 10 m (32 ft 10 in). However, unlike Medusa, the unnamed animal was never kept alive in captivity. Medusa is currently housed at “The Edge of Hell Haunted House” in Kansas City. Her handlers say she can actual

A violent battle to the death between two giant snakes.

Captured in a dramatic photo shared on Feb. 1 to Imgur, a grim scene hints at a violent battle to the death between two giant snakes, identified in the caption as a reticulated python ( Python reticulatus ) and a king cobra ( Ophiophagus hannah ), both native to Southeast Asia and among the biggest snake in the world. Both are formidable serpents. The reticulated python is the longest and heaviest snake on Earth, reaching 23 feet (7 meters) in length and weighing as much as 165 lbs.  (75 kilograms), and wielding considerable constricting power. Meanwhile, the king cobra can measure about 18 feet (5.5 m) long and weigh up to 20 lbs. (9 kg), and has a bite that packs enough neurotoxins to fell an Asian elephant. But when these two individuals squared off, neither survived the encounter. The photo, which was uncredited, appears to have been taken in a shallow ditch in an area where people live, judging from the empty plastic water bottles and other assorted trash scattered ne
